For many Zug residents, carnival is the best time of year. It starts on Schmudo, as Dirty Thursday is affectionately known, at 5 o'clock sharp with the Chesslete. Guggenmusikigen and Fasnächtler transform the city and region into a colorful, noisy sea of color. The carnival lasts until Güdel Tuesday and, according to tradition, is supposed to drive away winter or the devil. Come to the Zug carnival and celebrate with us.

On Carnival Friday, 28 February 2025, the colourful carnival parade in Steinhausen starts at 14:30.
Chnöpfli-Umzug Rotkreuz
On 28 February 2025, Rotkreuz will become an intergalactic party zone under the motto ‘Ned vo dere Wält’! The parade starts at 3.00 pm and leads from Dorfmattplatz to Lindenplatz and back again.
